Rev. Fr. Uldarico Guarin De La Pena

Rev. Fr. Uldarico Guarin De La Pena, age 68, suddenly passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1955 in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines to Urbano De La Pena and Visitacion Guarin.

Fr. Uldarico was a graduate of University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Philosophy. He received his Theology degree at Jaro Seminary in Iloilo, Philippines. He was assigned as a priest in Sum-ag, Cadiz, Murcia and San Sanvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental, Philippines. He later was assigned as a pastor in the United States at St. Mary’s Church in Fishkill, St. Joseph Church in Kingston and St. Mary’s in Poughkeepsie. Then became a Chaplain at Nucance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center. 

Fr. Uldarico was a beloved son of Urbano and Visitacion De La Pena; a loving brother of Maria Luz, Ortolito and wife, Eugelia, Orlanda Wyatt, Orlando and wife, Carmen, Ordanico, Ofemia and husband, Claraval Ezpelita and the late Ordonio and his living wife, Zaida; and all adored nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at St. Mary’s Church, 231 Church St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Funeral Mass will follow at 5:00 PM.

Additional funeral service will take place in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines under the professional care of Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels. Interment will be at San Diego Parish Cemetery at a later date.
