Nieves Dalisay Copia unexpectedly passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 66. She is survived by her siblings, Fe Copia Agus, Barbara Copia, Bernabe Copia, Orlando Copia, Remedios Copia, Raymund Copia, and Joseph Copia, her cousin Dari Castro.
Nieves was born in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, on December 12, 1955, to the late Gregorio Copia and Caridad Dalisay. She worked for Daughters of Miriam Center as a Registered Nurse for 25 years.
Nieves, known to everyone as “KOPEC,” is a graduate of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod with a degree in Bachelors's of Science in Nursing (1978).
The family, at this saddest time, would like to give thanks to Colegio San Agustin “Batch 78”, Cristina Hucalla, Flor Camaira Boehm, Daughters of Miriam Center staff: Annabelle Radgowski, Tess Laurel Executive Director Fred Feinstein. Special mention to Dra. Dely Po Go, and the Philippine Consulate of New York headed by Consulate General Elmer G.Cato for the extended help.

Cremation is private. Memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Snows Parish, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Interment will follow at Himamaylan City Public Cemetery.
