Jacinto Caleja Cariaga, 88, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at St. Joseph University Medical Center. Born August 18, 1933 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He was the son of the late Alejandro Cariaga and Sergia (Careon) Cariaga.

Jacinto is survived by his wife, Socorro; children, Florante Cariaga (Teodora Veneracion), Laura Cariaga (Uchi), Ricarte Cariaga (Olive Cariaga), Amelito Cariaga (Enalen), Flordeliza Cariaga-Grino (Rollie), Daisy Cariaga and Emerson Cariaga (Laarni); siblings, Guadalupe and Pablo Cariaga; Grandchildren, Sharleen, April, Chester, Queen, Nathaniel, Clarice Anne, Angelo, Ronald, Renzo, Cheska, Elaiza and Megan; Great Grandchildren, Sophia. Lauren, Dylan, Chad, Caleb, Laria and Entice.

He married the love of his life, Socorro, in September of 1958 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines. He worked in Saudi Arabia from 1976-1983 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He is an active member of Bible Church International in Randolph, NJ.

Jacinto loves playing cards, especially solitaire and tong its (it is a three-player rummy card game popular in the Philippines). On his spare time, he loves watching the news, reading book like romantic story. Every time he goes back to the Philippines, he has a jeepney (it is a minibus-like public utility vehicles, serving as the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines.[1] They are known for their crowded seating and kitsch decorations, which have become a widespread symbol of Philippine culture and art) that he doesn’t want to get rid of. If it’s broken, he will fix it for him to use it again. He loves his jeepney so much.

Jacinto also known as Intong by his relatives, Jac by his coworkers and tatay by his family. His closeness and love to his grandchildren can’t be replaced. He will surely be missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 from 4:00pm to 10:00pm at Bible Church International, 791 NJ-10, Randolph, NJ 07869.
