Calixta Velasco Alera, 88 of Bloomfield, New Jersey, passed away on September 19, 2022 at Alaris Health. She was born July 4, 1934 to the late Nicholas Velasco and Cirila Bernos at La Paz, Abra, Philippines.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mateo Sarmiento Alera; a mother to Miriam Alera Formoso, Febe Alera Flores, Benjamin Velasco Alera; a grandmother to Cyrus Formoso, Billy Ray Formoso, Drexel Formoso, Allen Flores, Louie Flores, Bernard Joseph Alera, Beanne Jamivy Alera Blando, Bryan James Alera and Brent Alera; a great grandmother to Gabriel Aamon Formoso, Rone Blando, Blu Alera, Jess Alera, Angelo Alera, Sam Alera, Jess Matthew Flores, Luke Flores and Daphne Flores.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Zuasola Funeral Homes of New Jersey, LLC. 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ 07003.

All are invited to meet at the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. for funeral mass on Friday, September 23, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 120 Prospect St., Nutley, NJ 07110.

Cremation will be held privately.
