Aida Nery Sotto

On August 9, 2023, the Nery-Sotto Families annouced the passing of our kind, brave and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Aida Nery Sotto, 85 of Union, New Jersey at her home surrounded by her family.

Aida was born on December 16, 1937 to Vicente Nery and Cornelia Diaz in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. She graduated at University of the East in Manila, Philippines with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce. She worked at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York as Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years before retiring.

She is the loving mother of Vincent Nery (Gerly Nery), Jonathan Sotto (Maria Agustin-Sotto), Carlos Ian Sotto (Michele Grace Uy-Sotto) Carlo Magno Sotto (Aimee Sotto) and Anthony Sotto; a beloved sister of Nora Manalo; a proud grandmother of Carla DeLa Pena, Mark Angelo Nery, Anthony Nery, Vicente Nery, Miko Sotto, Jaden Sotto, Caleb Sotto, Carianne Grace Sotto, Cian Nicolas Sotto and Zoe Olivia Sotto; a great grandmother of Caleb Timothy Nery and Noah Tristan Nery.

Aida is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Sotto, her parents, Vicente and Cornelia Nery and her brothers Jose Nery and Crispin Nery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Zuasola Funeral Homes of New Jersey, LLC. 44 Bay Ave. Bloomfield, NJ 07003. (Additional parking located along Broughton Avenue).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, August 18, 10:15am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St., Union. NJ. Cremation will follow at Rosedale Crematory, 408 Orange Road, Montclair, NJ.
